Academic Programs
A balanced education rooted in faith and academic excellence
Our Approach
Integration, Not Separation
SLIC offers a dual curriculum — a robust Islamic Studies program alongside a full New Jersey Department of Education–aligned academic curriculum. Students graduate prepared for college, career, and advanced Islamic learning.
Part One
Islamic Education Curriculum
📖 Qur’an
Systematic progression from Arabic language to full recitation, Tajweed (rules of recitation), and Tafsir (Qur’anic interpretation).
🌿 Aqeedah
Foundations of belief — correct understanding of Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) and the fundamentals of Islamic creed.
🌙 Tasawwuf
Spiritual discipline, manners, and humility — developing the inner character that is the foundation of a Muslim’s life.
⚖️ Fiqh
Islamic jurisprudence covering Salah, Fasting, Zakat, and the rulings that guide everyday Muslim life.
📜 Seerah & Islamic History
The Life of the Prophet ﷺ and the history of Islam — inspiring students through the stories of those who came before.
🔡 Arabic Language
Building Arabic language skills from the ground up — essential for understanding the Qur’an, Islamic texts, and classical scholarship.
Part Two
NJ Academic Curriculum
Our academic program meets New Jersey Department of Education standards for K–12, ensuring every SLIC graduate is fully prepared for college admission.
Mathematics
Grade-level mathematics aligned to NJ state standards, building a strong foundation in numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
English Language Arts
Reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills that meet NJ ELA standards and prepare students for high school and beyond.
Science
Hands-on and inquiry-based science instruction grounded in NJ standards — exploring the natural world through the lens of curiosity and faith.
Social Studies
History, geography, civics, and economics — building informed citizens who understand their community, their country, and the wider world.
